Hello & why I can help...

I’m Sarah Clarke. Mum, wife, optimist and self-confessed personal and career development geek.

I’m on a mission to help talented women unlock their potential and find more happiness at work, by showing them how to design their best work lives – on their terms.

I’ve worked in the fields of employee happiness and development for nearly 2 decades and am incredibly passionate about the professional potential of women.

I left the corporate world of employee engagement and development in 2016 and went freelance.

I then set up my own career and leadership development coaching business, Shine Brighter, in March 2018.

Since then I have helped hundreds of talented women reconnect with their unique strengths, values and personality preferences and rebuild their self-belief; allowing them to unlock their potential and shine brighter in their careers and businesses.

I’m proud to feature in Forward Ladies Top 20 Coaches list for 2021 and have had my article published in Stylist Magazine.

My profound interest in personality and human potential was confirmed when I qualified as a strengths and performance coach over a decade ago.

I’m also certified to conduct MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator), Hogan’s Leadership Forecast Series and Gallup’s CliftonStrengths psychometric assessments which I use throughout my coaching practise.

My approach is informed by positive psychology and neuroscience insights and I recently certified as a Mental Health First Aider.

Before becoming a freelance career and leadership coach, I worked at several fast-paced and dynamic organisations in the tech start up and online world; each one with their own unique and vibrant culture. All of these companies epitomise innovation, passion and creativity and these values have helped shape my own work philosophy.

Originally from Nottingham, I now live in Buckinghamshire with my husband, two young daughters and cat!

Sarah Clarke Shine Brighter Career Coach

My career story...

In 2016, after having worked in the fields of employee engagement, people development and workplace culture for over 15 years, I set up my business, Shine Brighter Consulting.

I worked as a freelance culture and engagement consultant until the birth of my second daughter girl at the end of 2016.

After a year’s maternity leave, and some serious reflection, I decided to change direction and go ‘all in’ on my career coaching business in early 2018; initially working with returning female talent and women wanting to change careers after having children.

Since then, my business has continued to evolve as I have as a person. I now work as a female leadership and female founder coach helping talented women unlock their potential and find more clarity, confidence and contentment in their work lives, through my signature S.H.I.N.E coaching framework, psychometric tools, positive psychology and neuroscience.

I also work as a culture coach and consultant with values-led organisations and teams who want to make work a better place for everyone.

In short, I like to refer to myself as The Work Happiness Coach, because I believe that people shine brighter when they work happy.

My Corporate work experience & clients

Before setting up my own coaching business, I worked at several fast-paced and dynamic organisations, each one with their own unique and vibrant culture.

I am proud to have devised the strategy and led the People team that achieved the #1 ranking in The Sunday Times Best Companies to work for listings for 2015 and 2016 for Simply Business and secured the Investors In People standard for The Digital Property Group in 2012.

All of these companies epitomise innovation, passion and creativity and these values have helped shape my own work philosophy.
