Shine Brighter Consulting was founded by me, Sarah Clarke, in 2016.
I have worked in the fields of employee engagement, coaching, organisational and talent development for over 15 years.
Before becoming a freelance consultant, I worked at several fast-paced and dynamic organisations, each one with their own unique and vibrant culture.
All of these companies epitomise innovation, passion and creativity and these values have helped shape my own work philosophy. Click here for more information on my work experience.
I am proud to have devised the strategy and led the People team that achieved the #1 ranking in The Sunday Times Best Companies to work for listings for 2015 and 2016.
I have worked with businesses ranging from small but fiercely ambitious start-ups to the more established veterans of the business world. They all had in common a desire and commitment to do right by their people. Not just because they knew it made business sense; but because they believed it was the right thing to do. For their employees, their families, their shareholders. And ultimately their customers.
Qualified Strengths and Performance Coach
I am also a qualified strengths and performance coach and certified to administer MBTI, Hogan and Gallup’s CliftonStrengths psychometric assessments. I work with individuals in organisations and talented women looking to reconnect with their unique strengths and values, reignite or redirect their careers, start their own business or return to a flexible role that works for them and their families.
I set up the female-focused strengths-based, career development and leadership coaching arm of my business when my second maternity leave came to an end in March 2018, after feeling there was a gap in the market for support for talented women who had enjoyed successful careers before having children.
I offer them practical and friendly support and access to various personal development tools, whatever their stage in motherhood. I am passionate about helping women grow their careers whilst working flexibly.
As far as returning to work after a career break is concerned, I have been there, done that, but didn’t necessarily get the T-shirt I was hoping for (!?) – so I truly identify with the challenges facing parents in this fast-paced, often inflexible business world.
These experiences have been my driving inspiration for wanting to help organisations better support their returning female talent. Shine Brighter’s bespoke Female Talent Retention & Development coaching programmes provide the practical career development support I would have really benefited from myself.
I am so pleased to be able to share my coaching expertise with with talented women who are facing a crisis of confidence when it come to their professional purpose, confidence and careers. My career development coaching for individuals helps these talented women reconnect with what makes them great so they can fulfil their professional purpose in life and ultimately shine brighter.
I work with women directly or in conjunction with their employers through career development, leadership and returner coaching programmes.
The human condition has been an endless source of fascination to me, and since the birth of my first daughter in 2014, I have found particular joy in motherhood and child development. I live in Buckinghamshire with my husband and two young daughters.
